POSTED ON 1/13/20
MOBILE, ALABAMA, January 13—Thompson Engineering today announced that its status as an Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) has been confirmed by Associated Builders and Contractors. Thompson Engineering is only the 13th company in Alabama, and the only engineering firm, to be recognized as an Accredited Quality Contractor.
“AQC is the highest form of recognition for companies in the construction industry. It certifies our commitment to safety, quality, our people, and our communities,” said Thompson Engineering CEO John Baker. “From construction management opportunities and design-build projects to engagements as a general contractor, this recognition represents to our clients the type of firm we are – an ownership-driven team that supports the success of our clients.”
Launched in 1993, ABC’s AQC program provides recognition to world-class firms that have documented their commitment in five areas of corporate responsibility:
- Quality
- Safety (ABC STEP Gold, Platinum or Diamond level required)
- Talent management
- Craft and management education
- Community relations and diversity
“Associated Builders and Contractors is pleased to recognize Thompson Engineering as an Accredited Quality Contractor for its dedication to corporate responsibility and contributions to the communities in which they work,” said 2019 ABC National Chair Tony Rader, vice president of telecom at National Roofing Partners. “Thompson Engineering’s commitment to world-class safety performance, workforce development, diversity leadership and community service excellence makes them a clear leader in the merit shop construction industry.”
AQC is recognized by Construction Users Roundtable, an organization founded by leading construction project owners.
