We approach each project with sustainable design principles and best management practices as the foundation. This results in environmentally-responsible projects integrated with the natural terrain, hydrology, and vegetation.
We have learned that a sustainable design does not necessarily mean a more expensive design. In fact, projects that prioritize sustainable features are often more energy and resource-efficient, meaning they are more cost-effective in the long run.
Our team is knowledgeable in LEED and SITES certifications, allowing us to provide green building and sustainable infrastructure design and techniques that enable your project to protect and enhance a healthy, resilient environment.
Our employees and their families and friends work together to support cleaner communities. Thompson Engineering’s EcoTeam regularly conducts roadside litter pickups and participates in coastal cleanup events. Most of these events call simply for hand-held litter grabbers, gloves, and trash bags. Other times, we use kayaks and barges to facilitate water-based litter pick-ups. The ultimate goal is protecting the natural resources that make our communities beautiful places to live and work.
Thompson takes extra steps to promote recycling at our offices, as well as at corporate and community events. We frequently sponsor recycling efforts at various types of events, from music festivals to annual coastal cleanups.
