In 2018, Thompson Engineering was hired to provide construction engineering and inspection (CEI) services for a new industrial access road in Ohatchee, Alabama. Our work included earthwork testing, concrete testing, asphalt inspection, roadway pipe installation inspections, erosion control inspections, traffic control monitoring, and striping inspection. During the course of the project, Thompson Engineering also provided professional engineering services to solve drainage issues on the project site, as well as, construction surveying services.
Typically, Thompson Engineering contracts with a state Department of Transportation for CEI work. In this case, Thompson was hired by the mayor of the Town of Ohatchee. Thompson Engineering is a pre-approved engineering firm in Alabama, meaning we can work directly for cities and counties on transportation design and CEI projects.
During construction of the access road, the Town of Ohatchee began work to design a culdesac near the industrial park. Thompson Engineering assisted with the design and construction surveying for this additional project.
