A global industrial client recognized the need for roof replacement and repair at its Florida facility. The facility is large, and with more than 40 roofs in need of repair, the client needed advice on how to tackle the job. Thompson Engineering provided a solution with a facility asset management program.
Thompson’s facility asset management program helps clients keep track of facility conditions and improvements using proprietary software that tracks priority, progress, and schedules. First, we provided a comprehensive roofing assessment. Next, roofs were categorized as those in immediate need to approximate life remaining. Finally, a five-year schedule for capital funds was developed. Design and scope-of-work recommendations were prepared for the re-roofing of the buildings in need. Both Thompson and our client use the software program to keep track of the sequencing of needs, as well as data capturing facility repairs and progress.
