Thompson Engineering operates a comprehensive system of Geotechnical Laboratories proficient in ASTM and AASHTO testing protocols for characterizing the mechanical and physical properties of soil, rock, and all aggregate rock materials. In addition to the testing protocols you expect, we also rely on in-house protocols developed over the past 65+years to find solutions to common, but often unaddressed problems.
With full-service laboratories in Alabama, Mississippi, and two locations in Louisiana, we meet demanding schedules for our clients and are capable of 24-hour operations as needed to support project deadlines. We have the capacity to operate multiple lab locations to provide faster response time and completion, and we have mobile laboratory capabilities for onsite set-up for large scale construction projects. In addition, we offer clients an option for independent testing services with worldwide testing and shipping capability.
Our lab data and reporting is managed electronically by a LIMS system. Sample tracking and reporting is handled automatically by a server-level platform. Custom reporting is available to meet any client’s request, large or small. Our geotechnical baseline reports provide a reference to assist in the resolution of project disagreements, and to reduce project risk and uncertainty.
Our employees are skilled and continuously trained to properly operate our specialized laboratory equipment. Professional Engineers serve in a quality assurance role for our laboratory staff providing quality results.
