Organizers of the 20th Annual Thompson Fishing Rodeo recently announced that the invitational tournament raised $60,000 for the Thompson Foundation. More than 150 anglers competed in the tournament, which is open to employees and their clients, families, and friends. Anglers compete for cash prizes and bragging rites in saltwater and freshwater categories. “Our fishing rodeo is like a company party, client social, and fishing tournament all wrapped into one fun weekend,” said Mike Manning, Senior Vice-President and fishing rodeo organizer. “We’re proud this event has lasted 20 years and we are already planning for our 2023 event.”
Rodeo sponsorships range from $250 to $4,000. Sponsorships go directly to the Thompson Foundation, which awards grants and scholarships to deserving students and charitable organizations. “Our business partners, clients, and employees donate to this effort because they believe in the impact of the Thompson Foundation in our communities,” said Chad Brown, chairman of the Thompson Foundation. “With more than $1.1 million awarded since the Foundation’s inception, the Foundation’s lasting legacy and employee community involvement grants are worth celebrating.”
In 2022, the Thompson Foundation has awarded more than $70,000 to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity Gulf Coast Chapter, YMCA East Tennessee, Mississippi Coalition for Citizens, Tulane Cancer Center, and the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. The Thompson Foundation prioritizes employee-involvement grant requests, as well as STEM-related grants and scholarships.
