Thompson Engineering maintains the highest standards in construction inspection and materials testing in our industry and applies them at several laboratories and project sites throughout the Southeast from Houston to the Atlantic Coast. Our Mobile, Alabama laboratory is one of the largest in the region. Our 2400-sq.-ft. concrete laboratory and our 7150-sq.-ft. soils and asphalt materials laboratory use computerized data collection capable of a full range of ASTM, AASHTO, and other accepted methods. Our resources and real-time reporting allow us to respond quickly to any size and type of project, from the on-call services required for routine commercial construction to the complex, large scale, full-time projects lasting months or years.
What’s more, we understand your scheduling challenges. Our inspectors are equipped with a field-based, digital data management system that allows us to enter your information and send it back to the lab immediately. We excel in field verification and validation of the construction techniques and standards specified in the construction documents. That means your project can progress as quickly as possible and that construction quality issues are identified as early as possible.
Are you building in a remote site or do you have a quick turnaround? Our mobile laboratories, complete with a concrete compressive machine, soils analysis equipment, and built-in curing room, allow us to bring our expertise to you. In short, we eliminate the paperwork delays, instead bringing the responsiveness you want on your jobsite.
Thompson Engineering’s technicians hold ACI & NICET certifications. Our labs are accredited and certified, and our equipment is calibrated per industry standards. We are flexible in our role as the Quality Control Inspector for the general contractor or the Quality Assurance Representative for the project owner or the architect/engineer of record. When we’re on the job, we become an extension of you, assisting in the day-to-day decisions required in the field to ensure quality while expediting construction.
I’ve worked with Thompson Engineering for 4+ years on a very large project with conditions that require 24/7 attention to safety and quality. Thompson has proven to be a top-notch contractor always striving for both in the work they perform.
