Kendall Kilpatrick, PE joined Thompson Engineering in January 2023 as Executive Vice President leading the firm’s Buildings and Infrastructure practice group and was named CEO effective January 2024.
Kilpatrick comes to Thompson Engineering from Mott MacDonald where he served as Executive Vice President and Unit General Manager for the US Southeast. In that role, Kilpatrick developed strategic business plans and budgets aligned with global goals and was accountable for the unit’s overall achievement of key performance metrics. Kilpatrick’s appreciation for customer-driven management, long-range planning, and entrepreneurial leadership are key strengths he brings to Thompson Engineering.
Kilpatrick has served in leadership roles for many industry groups including the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is a past president of the ACEC Alabama and the past president of the Alabama Section of the ASCE. He currently serves on the ASCE Industry Leaders Council.
Kilpatrick earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Auburn University and a Bachelor of Science from Spring Hill College.
