In 2014, Thompson Engineering was one of the first contractors on the site of a large LNG liquefaction project. As the geotechnical engineer on a design-build team, Thompson was responsible for rubble-mound shoreline stabilization to protect against erosive effects of passing ships.
Since that initial involvement, Thompson Engineering has performed numerous civil and structural design, geophysical, and materials engineering services, as well as construction quality assurance and construction materials testing services for the export facility. Thompson also served as a prime construction sub-contractor for two impoundment basins.
Thompson has provided creative value engineering design and construction solutions to challenging site conditions, foundation support, and site development issues, including the following planning, design, and construction efforts. Geotechnical Investigations, assessments and related reports and guidance document preparation for multiple Facility Trains and for all ancillary structures.
