Thompson Engineering was selected by the Mobile County Commission to assist in grant writing, master planning, and design for the River Delta Marina project. The master plan included the conceptual design for marina improvements as well as a recreational pool, pavilion, floating docks, and cabins.
Thompson was responsible for the final engineering design and construction engineering inspection of open and covered slips for 56 vessels; water, sewer, and electrical service for boat slips; bulkhead design; sheet pile walls; boat launch facility; timber walkways; floating docks and walkways; piers; a canoe and kayak launch; a 2,400 square foot covered pavilion; storm water constructed wetlands; and native wetland vegetation planting.
The marina, which is located in Creola, Alabama, was funded by the Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP).
