Watermark Design Group and Thompson Engineering were contracted by the Mobile County Public School System to design roof replacements on four county schools. The schools, three large elementary schools and one large middle school, suffered chronic water intrusion caused by numerous existing conditions in need of identification and resolution.
Working on a tight timeline, Thompson Engineering provided field testing and analysis for investigation of the damage and generated design recommendations to remedy the issues causing the leaks. Investigations found expansion issues, flashing insufficiencies, and other problems. Thompson Engineering and Watermark produced documentation for competitive bidding and construction was monitored for conformance to documents. All four projects were completed on budget in the client’s requested timeline of summer break.
